Rooted in Evidence, Guided by Relationship
CBT & ERP Trained Therapists in NY & MA
What Are CBT & ERP?
If your mind feels like it’s always spinning — overthinking, catastrophizing, obsessing — CBT helps you break the cycle.
Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) teaches you how to recognize unhelpful thoughts and shift the patterns that fuel anxiety, self-doubt, and stuckness. It’s structured, practical, and focused on helping you take action — not just insight.
For OCD and anxiety, we often integrate Exposure and Response Prevention (ERP) — a powerful approach that helps you face fears without getting pulled into rituals, avoidance, or mental loops. ERP isn’t about pushing you into panic. It’s about slowly building safety and trust — so your fears don’t run the show.
How CBT & ERP Have Helped Our Clients
-
Untangle cycles of anxiety, panic, or obsessive thoughts
-
Learn tools to challenge perfectionism, rumination, and self-doubt
-
Develop new coping strategies grounded in logic and compassion
-
Face difficult triggers in safe, gradual steps
-
Rewire your relationship with discomfort, uncertainty, and fear
-
Build emotional flexibility and resilience
CBT is especially helpful for those feeling stuck in repetitive thought patterns. ERP is particularly useful if you live with OCD, intrusive thoughts, compulsions, or health-related anxieties. Together, they empower you to tolerate discomfort without losing yourself in it.

The Boundless Approach to CBT & ERP in NY & MA
At Boundless, we know CBT and ERP aren’t one-size-fits-all. Our approach is tailored to you—your history, identity, and cultural context. For many of our clients, especially BIPOC, South Asian, LGBTQ+, or immigrant individuals, anxiety isn’t just about “irrational thoughts.” It’s shaped by systemic stressors, cultural messaging, and real life experiences.
That’s why we combine structured, skills-based treatment with relational care. Sessions may include:
-
Thought tracking and reframing
-
Gradual exposure work with clear consent and pacing
-
Mindfulness and grounding strategies
-
Self-compassion and narrative restructuring
-
Somatic awareness to help regulate your body and mind
We don’t rush or “fix”—we co-create a path that feels grounded, trauma-informed, and affirming of your lived experience.
What a CBT Treatment Plan Looks Like at Boundless
1. Foundations & Thought Mapping
We begin by identifying what’s keeping you stuck — the anxious thoughts, rigid beliefs, or behavior loops that feel out of your control. CBT helps you understand the patterns between your thoughts, emotions, and actions. You’ll learn how to challenge unhelpful thinking, shift internal narratives, and build more balanced, empowering responses — without invalidating your real experiences.
2. Practicing Change, Thought by Thought
Once we’ve built that foundation, we begin applying CBT tools in real life — using your actual thoughts and situations, not generic examples. We’ll track what triggers your spirals, how you respond, and where we can interrupt that cycle with new skills. You’ll learn how to create distance from automatic thoughts and experiment with more flexible, grounded ways of thinking.
3. Integrating ERP for OCD & Anxiety
If OCD or avoidance-based anxiety is present, we may incorporate Exposure and Response Prevention (ERP). Together, we’ll face triggering thoughts or situations without defaulting to rituals or compulsions. ERP at Boundless is collaborative and paced with care — we never push you into panic. Over time, you’ll build self-trust, tolerance, and resilience.
4. Integration & Long-Term Support
As change starts to take root, we focus on reinforcing what’s working, addressing what’s still sticky, and helping you bring these tools into everyday life — in your relationships, decisions, and internal world. You’ll leave with a clearer sense of agency and a toolkit you can actually use.
At Boundless, CBT and ERP aren’t cold or clinical — they’re human, relational, and tailored to your pace. We meet you where you are, and walk with you toward what’s possible.
