What is Ketamine-Assisted-Psychotherapy and how can it help you?
Ketamine-Assisted Psychotherapy (KAP) is an innovative approach that pairs legally prescribed off-label ketamine with the support of a trained therapist. At Boundless, we work in collaboration with a trusted psychiatric team to facilitate the referral process and provide integration therapy—so you’re guided, supported, and never alone in your journey. What this means is we are with you every. step. of. the. way.
KAP can open new pathways of healing for people who feel stuck in patterns of depression, anxiety, or trauma. By working with both the mind and the nervous system, ketamine combined with psychotherapy may reduce emotional burdens, deepen self-awareness, and create space for meaningful change.
Conditions KAP can support:
-
Depression (including treatment-resistant depression)
-
Anxiety and social anxiety
-
PTSD and trauma-related distress
-
OCD and intrusive thoughts
-
Addictive patterns
-
Chronic pain with emotional impact
-
Psychosomatic symptoms (emotional struggles manifesting in the body)
-
Negative thought loops and rumination
-
Emotional disconnection from self or others
(*Treatment plans may vary depending on provider recommendation.)
How we make ketamine therapy simple with Journey Clinical.

At Boundless, we partner with Journey Clinical, a leading platform that connects clients with prescribing medical providers for safe, evidence-based ketamine treatment for folks in Manhattan, Queens, Brooklyn and the Bronx. Together, we provide a seamless pathway to care that combines medical oversight with ongoing therapeutic support.
Here’s how it works:
-
Evaluate & Refer
Your Boundless therapist will assess whether Ketamine-Assisted Psychotherapy (KAP) may be right for you. If so, we’ll provide a referral to Journey Clinical.
-
Prescribing
A Journey Clinical physician will complete a medical evaluation and prescribe ketamine if clinically appropriate.
-
Therapy
You’ll meet with your Boundless therapist to prepare for, experience, and integrate your KAP sessions. Your medication is in a sublingual form and hence will be self-administered with your therapist present,
-
Dose Day
The ketamine session itself lasts about three hours. Your Boundless therapist will be with you from beginning to end to provide support and safety throughout the process.
-
Ongoing Integration
We’ll meet for a brief follow-up session the next day, then continue integration work over the following weeks to help you make meaning of the experience and apply insights to your life.

Why consider Ketamine-Assisted-Therapy in NYC?
When standard treatments haven’t brought the relief you deserve, KAP offers another path.
Ketamine-Assisted Psychotherapy can help clients move through stuck patterns of depression, anxiety, or trauma by creating windows of openness and emotional clarity that traditional talk therapy sometimes can’t reach.
-
At lower doses, ketamine can soften defenses and make therapy more effective.
-
At higher doses, it may open profound states of awareness that support deep healing and new perspectives.
The difference lies in the setting: at Boundless, ketamine isn’t offered as a standalone treatment but woven into a safe therapeutic relationship with preparation, dose-day support, and ongoing integration—so insights become lasting change.

Frequently asked questions
01
How much does ketamine therapy cost in NYC?
How much does ketamine therapy cost in New York? At Boundless, we believe healing should be accessible and transparent. Our pricing is simple: • Preparation & Integration sessions: $210 (45 minutes each) • Dose Day session: $450 (approx. 3 hours) Most clients begin with two prep sessions, followed by their first dose day, and then ongoing integration work tailored to their needs. We are out-of-network (OON), but we support you every step of the way: • We provide superbills for reimbursement. • We submit claims on your behalf so you don’t have to navigate insurance paperwork. • Many of our clients receive partial reimbursement up to 100%, depending on their benefits. Journey Clinical, our prescribing partner, is in-network with many major plans, which can further lower your overall cost.
02
Is ketamine therapy safe?
Yes. Ketamine has been used as an FDA-approved anesthetic for over 50 years, and in recent decades, extensive research has shown its effectiveness in treating depression, trauma, and anxiety when administered in controlled, therapeutic settings. At Boundless, safety is central to everything we do: • You’ll first meet with a Journey Clinical physician for a full medical evaluation. • Only if clinically appropriate will ketamine be prescribed. • All preparation, dosing, and integration sessions are supported by your Boundless therapist. • We monitor emotional, psychological, and physical safety throughout the process. This collaborative model ensures your treatment is both medically supervised and therapeutically grounded.
03
What conditions can ketamine-assisted psychotherapy help with?
Research shows that ketamine therapy can be effective for a range of conditions, especially when traditional treatments haven’t provided relief. These include: • Treatment-resistant depression • PTSD and trauma • Generalized and social anxiety • OCD • Negative thought patterns • Emotional disconnection from self and others • Chronic stress and burnout Many clients also report increased emotional openness, clarity, and resilience, making therapy more productive and meaningful.
04
What happens during a ketamine therapy session?
A typical course of ketamine-assisted psychotherapy (KAP) at Boundless looks like this: 1. Preparation – You’ll meet with your therapist for 1–2 sessions to set intentions, discuss expectations, and prepare your mind and body. 2. Dose Day – On the day of your ketamine session (about 3 hours), you’ll take the prescribed medicine while your Boundless therapist supports you throughout the experience. 3. Integration – In the days and weeks following, you’ll process insights with your therapist, translating your experience into lasting change. This combination of medicine + therapy helps create space for deep healing, not just temporary relief.
05
Is ketamine therapy legal in NYC?
Yes. Ketamine is an FDA-approved medication, and when prescribed off-label for mental health by a licensed provider, it is legal and widely used across the U.S. At Boundless, all prescriptions come through our partner Journey Clinical, a network of licensed medical providers specializing in ketamine treatment. Your Boundless therapist then provides the preparation, support, and integration work to ensure the process is safe, ethical, and effective.
06
Where can I get ketamine therapy in New York?
Boundless offers both in-person and telehealth options for ketamine-assisted psychotherapy, so care is accessible no matter where you’re located in New York. • In-person: Our private therapy space in Manhattan provides a calm and supportive environment for dose days. • Telehealth: Many preparation and integration sessions can be completed virtually. Clients join us from across the city — Brooklyn, Queens, the Bronx, Staten Island, and Manhattan — as well as from Long Island and Westchester. Whether you’re commuting into the city or joining from home, Boundless ensures the process is seamless and supportive.
07
Do I need to stop my current medications?
Not necessarily. Many clients continue taking SSRIs, SNRIs, or other antidepressants while engaging in ketamine therapy. Your Journey Clinical physician will carefully review your medications to ensure safety. Some medications (such as high doses of benzodiazepines) may reduce ketamine’s effectiveness, but adjustments are always made gradually and with your full participation.
08
How many sessions will I need?
This depends on your goals and your response to treatment. Many clients begin with a series of 6 sessions over 3–6 weeks, which includes preparation, dosing, and integration. Some experience significant relief after just one dose day, while others benefit from a longer course. After your initial series, you and your therapist will decide whether ongoing integration, booster sessions, or continued KAP is the best path forward.
