Rooted in Evidence, Guided by Compassion
EMDR Specialists in NY & MA
Whether you’re feeling stuck in old patterns, overwhelmed by anxiety, or weighed down by past experiences, EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing), a proven and science-backed method for trauma recovery - offers a way to heal beyond trauma. At Boundless, our approach is different: we’re relationally rooted, culturally aware, and focused on helping you feel safe, seen, and supported as you reprocess what’s been holding you back.
We use EMDR to help individuals heal from PTSD, relationship trauma, childhood abuse, sexual assault, and complex trauma.
We offer virtual EMDR therapy across New York & Massachusetts for adults ready to move forward — not just mentally, but emotionally and somatically.

What Brings Our EMDR clients to Therapy
You’ve likely told yourself to move on. Tried journaling, thinking positively, or pushing through. But something still doesn’t feel right. Your body is holding onto something your mind can’t fully shake. That’s not weakness — it’s trauma that hasn’t had the chance to heal.
Maybe you've noticed:
-
Racing thoughts, panic, or trouble sleeping
-
Feeling “on edge” even when things are calm
-
Avoiding people, places, or conversations
-
Deep fatigue, burnout, or a sense of emotional numbness
And you might be wondering:
-
Why do i keep feeling this way?
-
Why can't I just move on?
-
Is it really trauma if I can't remember everything?
-
What if therapy actually makes it worse?
-
What if my therapist re-traumatizes me?
-
What if I have a bad experience with therapy again?
The truth is: You don’t have to remember every detail or relive the past to heal. You just need a space where your experience is held with care — and a therapy approach that helps your brain and body finally let go. We do this in the safety of a grounded therapeutic relationship.

Boundless's Approach to EMDR Therapy — Relational, Not Robotic
Let’s be honest: EMDR can feel clinical when it’s done without heart. At Boundless, we believe healing happens in the context of relationship. So before we ever dive into memory processing, we slow down. We get to know you — your story, your pace, your boundaries. We build trust. We co-create safety.
What Makes Our EMDR Work Unique
-
Relational-first, always. We don’t rush. We’re here to connect, not treat you like a test subject.
-
Attuned pacing. EMDR can be powerful — but only if it’s done in a way your system can tolerate. We go at your speed.
-
Attachment-informed. We recognize how early relationships shape our emotional world. Our work helps rewire how you relate to others — and yourself.
-
Somatic and body-aware. Trauma lives in the body. We use grounding tools and nervous system education to help you stay present and safe.
-
Culturally affirming. While we aren’t limited to any one identity group, our team reflects a wide range of lived experience.
We’re not just trauma-informed — we’re context-informed.
Whether you’re coming in with a diagnosis or a gut feeling that something’s “off,” you don’t have to know exactly what’s wrong. We’re trained to follow the breadcrumbs with you.
What EMDR Protocol Looks Like at Boundless NY & MA

Here’s what to expect when working with us:

1. Foundation Building
You’ll spend the first few sessions getting to know your therapist, exploring your story, and identifying the core experiences you want to shift. You’ll also learn emotional regulation tools and grounding practices so you feel equipped before reprocessing begins.

2. Memory Targeting + Reprocessing
Once ready, we begin EMDR’s structured phases — identifying “targets” (memories, themes, or sensations), activating bilateral stimulation, and allowing your brain to reprocess and rewire.
This part of therapy can be powerful. Many clients report a sensation of release, as if a weight has finally lifted. Others feel calmer, more clear, more “themselves” than they have in years.
3. Integration
We don’t just “end” once the protocol is done. We’ll spend time making meaning from what shifted, exploring what’s emerging, and building new internal patterns to support lasting change.
Throughout all stages, we prioritize relational attunement.
That means your therapist is present with you — not just guiding the process, but holding space for the parts of you that are still scared, skeptical, or unsure.
